PR: Michael Torrey Associates Welcomes Kuball; Harlow to Team

Wednesday, May 20th, 2020

Michael Torrey Associates (MTA) welcomed Cassandra Kuball and Perry Harlow to its team this week. The Washington, D.C. based firm offers effective government relations, strategic communications and issue advocacy as well as full-service association management to a growing number of clients in the food, agriculture, and forestry sector.

“I am delighted to have Cassandra and Perry joining MTA as we continue to grow our team and build out our client offerings,” said firm principal Michael Torrey. “Cassandra brings over a decade of experience in food and agriculture issues advocacy work, which is critical in a time when the industry is witnessing significant changes. Separately, with the growth of Perry’s new role, it will allow for increased client experiences and the ability for the firm to take on additional event coordination, and logistics planning.”

As Vice President, Kuball will provide guidance and representation to clients on a variety of agriculture and food policy issues. Most recently, she served as a Vice President of Public Affairs at Edelman, a public relations and marketing firm, where she provided counsel to the firm’s clients in the commodities, supply chain, agribusiness and global trade sectors. Prior to that role, Kuball led successful industry-wide coalitions and directed association programs on international trade and biotechnology at the Corn Refiners Association.

Perry Harlow will join the MTA team in a new role as Member and Events Manager providing logistics and management assistance for clients in-person and virtual fly-ins, annual meetings, and receptions. Harlow comes to MTA from National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Foundation. An Illinois native, Harlow has also served in internship roles with U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, IL State Representative Dan Brady and the National Association of Agricultural Educators.

Like others on the MTA team, both Kuball and Harlow’s roots are in rural America, bolstering the unique perspective and real-world understanding of agriculture that the firm provides. “With Cassandra and Perry’s additions to the team, and their background and experience, I know they will excel at their respective roles and provide the highest-quality service our clients are accustom to,” added Torrey.

Kuball received her master’s degree in International Commerce and Policy from the George Mason University School of Public Policy and a bachelors from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and is a proud alum of the National FFA Organization, 4-H and Agriculture Future of America. Harlow has both his bachelors and masters in Agricultural Education from Illinois State University and remains active in the Alumni association.
