Michael Torrey Associates (MTA) welcomed Brandon Barnett to its team as a Policy Coordinator. The Washington, D.C.-based firm offers effective government relations, strategic communications and issue advocacy as well as full-service association management to a growing number of clients in the food, agriculture, and forestry sector.

Brandon will provide policy, communications, and administrative support for the MTA lobbying team. Previously, Brandon worked at Cornerstone Government Affairs and StoneX, a financial services organization. During his time at StoneX, he worked closely with the compliance team in designing and implementing internal processes that increased team revenue and managed risk.

“We’re excited to have Brandon aboard. His background in agriculture makes him a perfect fit for the team as we continue to raise the bar in providing our clients the highest quality of government and public affairs guidance,” said firm principal Michael Torrey.

A Florida native, Brandon comes from a family of produce marketers and discovered his passion for agriculture and entomology through his college. In his spare time, Brandon likes to keep up with the latest news in the beekeeping community. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Plant Science with an emphasis in genetics.
