MTA Welcomes Summer Intern, Dexton Lake

Michael Torrey Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Dexton Lake, summer policy intern. In his role, Dexton will assist the MTA team with policy research, issues tracking, and other special projects to serve an ever-growing list of clients in the food, agriculture, and forestry sector.

Raised in a ranching family, Dexton brings a unique understanding of complex agricultural issues to the MTA team. Dexton has experience working with Snake River Livestock, the Utah State University Extension Office, and as an auctioneer and bid spotter. Dexton was also selected as a 2019-2020 Farm Credit Fellow and served as Utah State University Student Body Vice President for the most recent school year.

“Dexton’s enthusiasm and dedication to agriculture are a welcome addition to the MTA team and we look forward to his contributions to the work we do with our clients every day,” said firm principal Michael Torrey.

Originally from Blackfoot, Idaho, Dexton is currently enrolled at Utah State University and will graduate in December, 2020 with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Agribusiness and Plant Science. He also holds a Certificate of Auctioneering from the Western College of Auctioneering. Upon completing his degrees, Dexton plans to pursue a Master’s in Agribusiness from Utah State University.
