As a vice president, Julie McClure, Ph.D., provides guidance and counsel to a wide range of clients at the Torrey Advisory Group. Julie comes to the firm with more than ten years of experience in advocacy with professional scientific societies. Most recently, she worked with the Agronomy, Crop, and Soil Science Societies, advocating for food, agriculture, and natural resource research programs across federal agencies, including USDA, the National Science Foundation, and DOE-Office of Science.
During the 2018 Farm Bill, Julie worked to develop the Societies’ farm bill policy priorities and successfully advocated for the creation of two new research programs within USDA. She also has extensive experience in managing fly-in events, grassroots advocacy, and policy communication.
McClure received her doctorate in cell biology from the University of Virginia and her Bachelor of Science in biology from Florida State University.
