Danielle serves as the Director of Government Affairs for Michael Torrey Associates, where she provides strategic guidance to clients on a wide array of agriculture and food policy issues. Prior to joining MTA, Danielle served as Director of Public Policy at the Agricultural Retailers Association.
Nelson also previously served as the Director of Congressional Relations for the National Pork Producers Council where she advocated on behalf of U.S. pork producers. Additionally, she worked in the U.S. House of Representatives serving as a legislative assistant handling agriculture, finance, foreign affairs, tax, and trade issues.
In her spare time, Danielle volunteers as the Junior League of Washington Committee Chair of N Street Village, a center that offers a spectrum of services for homeless and low-income women in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Additionally, she serves as a Co-Chair for the Women in Government Relations (WGR) Energy, Environment, and Agriculture Task Force.
A native of Southern California, Nelson earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Fullerton. She currently resides in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, John, and cat, Finley.
