Michael “Mike” Torrey founded the Torrey Advisory Group in 2005 with one client with the intent that agriculture is the bedrock of every society. The firm now serves myriad clients across the food and agriculture sectors, offering government relations, advocacy, association management, coalition building and thought leadership services. Mike’s commitment to the critical role of agriculture remains the foundation of the firm, and he has developed an experienced, bi-partisan team dedicated to working for the greater good through food, agricultural, and related industries. The team’s ranks include legislative, policy, and trade experts, nutritionists, and scientists.
Mike has worked as a top adviser to Senate leaders and held numerous roles in the executive branch, at both the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He has served as an adviser to many presidential campaigns and transition teams. Mike’s advice is routinely sought by candidates and leaders at the state and local level.
Throughout his career, Mike has witnessed the critical role intergenerational engagement plays in advancing food and agriculture. He has developed industry leadership programs in both professional and university settings, and aided others in doing so. In his personal capacity, he champions many civil society organizations, particularly those that have a daily role in addressing hunger and serving youth.
With experience, knowledge, and efficiency, Mike provides a trusted voice on behalf of clients to the public and thought leaders within government and industry.
