As a vice president for Torrey Advisory Group, Nona McCoy advises clients on a wide range of legislative, budgetary, and appropriations issues impacting the food and agriculture sector. McCoy comes to TAG after spending the last nine years managing policy and funding recommendations for the Interior, Environment, & Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee. She ran point and successfully negotiated multiple agency budgets for nine appropriations bills along with several continuing resolutions.
McCoy has twenty-five years of bicameral, bipartisan congressional experience, representing an unparalleled depth of knowledge and expertise. Prior to joining the Appropriations Committee, Nona worked on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry as a policy expert to assist in the formulation of the 2014 Farm Bill. McCoy has also been at United States Department of Agriculture as the federal representative on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Chesapeake Bay Program committees. She came to USDA from the House Agriculture Committee where she was named the Staff Director for the Conservation, Credit, Energy, and Research Subcommittee and helped pass the 2008 Farm Bill.
McCoy is originally from Kentucky. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and received a graduate degree from Georgetown University. She currently resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband Andrew and two children, Honora and John.
