Torrey Advisory Group (TAG) is proud to add Jacqueline Muhammad to the policy team as a director of government affairs. Jacqueline joins the firm with nearly a decade of experience specializing in agriculture and food policy, capacity building, and campaign management.

In her role, Muhammad will advise a variety of agriculture and food policy clients on top issues impacting their industries. Prior to joining the firm, Jacqueline served as the biofuels and public policy program manager for Illinois Corn Growers Association.

In addition, she has served in both chambers of Congress. First as a legislative aide for former U.S. Senator Mark Kirk. After she served as a regional field director on Rep. Lauren Underwood’s first congressional campaign, continuing on to serve as the outreach director for her district office. In addition, Muhammad was part of the government relations team at the Union of Concerned Scientists working on issues related to the 2018 Farm Bill, Dietary Guidelines, and marginalized farmers.

“Adding Jacqueline to our team will allow Torrey Advisory Group to continue to offer expertise and experience to clients throughout the entire food and agricultural supply chain. Her bicameral and bipartisan experience serving in Congress along with her experience working directly with farmers, allows her to bring an invaluable perspective to policy decisions,” said firm principal Michael Torrey.

A Chicago native, Muhammad earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Systems from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She is also an alumna of The Campaign School at Yale University.
